The fifth annual Father’s Day 5K Run and Fun Run is set for Sunday, June 17. New this year; ‘Run Dri’ running hats for the first 500 5k registrations, the Fun Run is FREE for all ages, and as always, the UGLY TIE CONTEST!
Please join us for a fun and family-friendly morning run/walk, beginning and ending at the Apex Center! The 5K winds through the tree-lined neighborhood streets west of the Apex Center, while the Fun Run/walk route, approximately 1 mile long, follows the walking/biking trail south and east of the Apex Center. Celebrate Father’s Day with the family at either event!
From 9 am to 3 pm, the 8th annual Father’s Day Car Show is on, with classic cars, music, refreshments and kids’ activities in the Apex Center parking lot. It’s a full day of fun for fathers and families! For more information about the Car Show and registration forms, please visit foundation.apexprd.org/2012-fathers-day-car-show.
Run To Support Community Youth Recreation!
Proceeds from both events go to the Apex Park and Recreation District Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to improving community recreation. Foundation volunteers are truly the “salt of the earth” – local leaders and citizens who work within the community to support the community. The Foundation has designated 100% of the event’s proceeds to youth recreation. Your participation in the 5K/Fun Run helps keep recreation affordable for the youth of this community.

A great event needs great volunteers. Be a part of the fun – no experience is needed, and there’s a wide variety of tasks and times available. Middle and high school students: if you’re looking for community service hours, this is the perfect opportunity. It’s also a great activity for families or organizations. To find out more, contact Apex Center Guest Services, 303-424-2739 or email .
You can also support the cause of youth recreation by donating to the Apex Park and Recreation District Foundation. This event’s success is due to the dedication and support of this wonderful community. Donations are welcome in any amount; you can donate online, or send checks to APRD Foundation, noting “Father’s Day 5K donation” in the memo line.
