Nearly a dozen of the Jeffco Aquatic Masters swimmers, whose home pool is Apex PRD’s George J. Meyers Pool, attended the recent Colorado Masters Swimming Association State Meet in April. They achieved some impressive results. The men’s overall team ranking was 13th, the women’s overall team ranking was 14th , and the combined team ranking was 14th. When trying to avoid an attack or dealing with an attacker, awareness and reaction are most important. Class begins by discussing the importance of staying aware and being “smart” on the street and at home. The popular, growing sport of pickleball will soon have home courts in Arvada, thanks to “Pickleball Ken” Marquardt, hundreds of friends and supporters, and lots of hard work and enthusiasm. Pickleball is played with a paddle and wiffle ball, over a net, and combines the rules of ping pong and badminton.
