Any chance of getting a Wed morning or weekend drop-in time?

  2. Jake says:

I’ve just started playing hockey earlier this year and I’m looking to improve my skills while still having fun. How competitive are the drop in sessions?

    • Steve says:

Was wondering the same thing and i found out they can be pretty competitive at times, if your just starting out the skate and puck thing is the way to go, start out by getting some skills down first before u throw yourseld in id say

  3. Bob says:

The drop in sessions can be competitive. Skate n Shoots may be a good place to work on your skills until you feel stronger on skates.

  4. David says:

Hi there. I’ll be visiting from out of town and would like to try drop-in hockey. Any chance of opening a special session or two mid week between 12/18 and 1/3 , since the facility will be closed for the holidays?

    • Bob says:

      David
I added a 12:00 to 1:30 pm on 12/24 and 12/31. All the rest of our ice is sold as this is a very busy couple of weeks for us. Bob

  5. Tim says:

Will APEX ever consider an all inclusive family/individual membership for skating? Other area rinks offer this and seems to make good sense.

  6. Stephanie says:

I’m looking to get back into it and was wondering how well the turnout is for most drop in nights? Do you get two full teams most of the time? What is the age range, and is it co-ed? I’m 23 and I used to play for the youth program at DU. I’m really excited to get back on skates.

    • Kevin says:

      Stephanie,

I can tell you that the Monday & Friday afternoon (12-1:30) skates are usually full. Ages 20-55, level is B-E (above beginner up to a few guys who played some level of college), & they are co-ed with 1-2 female skaters. It’s a good group of people but be sure to sign up early as it fills up quick (i usually do the day before). Good Luck!

  7. Todd Schuman says:

How many players typically show up for the Friday morning pick-up?

  8. Garrett says:

    Goalies are free, yes?

    • Bob says:

Goalies are free for Adult Drop in Sessions but you need to call to reserve a spot at the Front Desk 303-403-2598.

  9. matt says:

how do you sign up for the pickup hockey games?

    • Bob says:

For Drop In Hockey, if you have a punch card you can sign up over the phone at 303-403-2598. Punch cards can be purchased at Guest Services during Apex hours. If you don’t have a punch card then you must sign up at the Ice desk in person.
      Bob

  10. talon says:

do you have drop in throughout the summer?

    • Bob says:

The Adult Drop In schedule is Monday 12:00-1:30 pm, Wednesday 8:15-9:45 pm, Friday 6:30-8:00 am and 12:00-1:30 pm.

  11. Mike says:

What kind of equipment is required for drop in? I have shin pads, gloves, helmet w/ mask, stick and skates. Is anything else required, i.e. shorts, shoulder pads, elbow pads…?

  12. Brandon says:

Are these skates still happening? How many people normally show? Are there usually 2 goalies? Thanks for any insight!

    • Bob says:

The Monday Drop-In is usually the busiest of the three sessions and there were two goalies and eighteen skaters this past week.
