  1. Sandy Lacey says:

What times are available for open swim (laps) when no classes are given? Thanks!

  2. Rob says:

Open/Lap swimming at Meyers can be found here:
    http://apexprd.org/facilities/george-j-meyers-pool/
The lap pool at the Apex is available all open hours except when a class is in session.

  3. Karen says:

Please add a challenging aquacise class in the evening at Meyers Pool. I think it is important to include people who work full-time, on dayshift, the same opportunities for exercise.

    • Rachel says:

They had an evening aquacize at Meyers for many years but dropped them about three years ago and pushed everyone to go to Apex for evening aquacize. I wouldn’t count on them ever adding evening aquacize back at Meyers. They prefer that pool to be for swim lessons and lap swimming. Good luck, though!

  4. Elizabeth says:

I agree Karen. For those of us who actually work fulltime evening classes would be appriciated.

  5. Beth says:

We appreciate your comments regarding an evening Aquacise class at Meyers pool and will look into the possibility of returning the class in the future. Currently Meyers pool is booked solid until 8:00 pm with youth and adult programs. While it is a good problem to have,it does require some difficult decisions to be made and some favorite programs to be moved or taken out of the mix entirely when other alternatives exist.

If you have not tried the evening Aquacise class at Apex I would encourage you to do so. The instructor is upbeat and fun and the class is challenging and fast paced. You will get a great workout!

  6. Midori Krieger says:

I’m interested in attending the Aquacise classes at Apex. I’m in my third Trimester. Do you or have you had any pregnant participants?

    • Rachel says:

I had my daughter in 2000 but had been doing aquacize for many years prior. While pregnant, I did the aquacize classes all the way up until a few weeks before she was born. It was actually more comfortable than standing or sitting with the bouyancy factor. You might not want to push it too hard but it at least gets you moving.

  7. Beth says:

Aquacise is a great form of exercise during pregnancy and yes, we have had many pregnant participants. Standard cautions do apply. Check with your physician prior to beginning an exercise program and modify exercises for your comfort. Hope to see you in class soon!

  8. Erin says:

I would love to see more aquacise classes offered at Apex center. Right now the only ones being offered are at 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. I am pregnant and recently had back surgery, so aquacise is the perfect exercise for me during my pregnancy. However, I have a two year old son and getting here by 8:00 is impossible, as most people with a little one would agree. And by 7:00 it’s bedtime, so the times being offered are very limiting. It would be nice to have a class midmorning (9:00 or 10:00) or one in the late afternoon. I know other mom’s and pregnant ladies would be able to better attend those times, and I’m sure there are many others who have a hard time making the early or late classes. Thank you.

    • Beth says:

There are several options for Aquacise classes at Apex. Not only do we have an 8:00 a.m. and a 7:00 p.m. class we also have classes at 7:00 a.m. M-F, 9:15 a.m. T/TH and 1:00 p.m. M-W-F. All though the 9:15 a.m class and the 1:00 p.m. class are designed to include more range of motion, flexibility, balance and socialization, they are great classes for any fitness level and ability and everyone is welcome. In addition, there is a class offered at Meyers Pool M-W-F 9:30 a.m. that you could join as well. We would love to add additional classes but pool space, especially during the summer months, is quite limited. Perhaps a new class could be added to the fall line up. Thank you for your comments. Hope to see you in class soon.

  9. Shelley says:

What, please, is an aquafit lane? Would that be a lane reserved for something like deep water aerobics, I hope?
Thanks for publishing so much information on your website.

    • Beth says:

The Aqua fit lane is for guests that would like to do water aerobics, water jogging or noodle work. It can be used for deep water exercise routines but please be advised that the water depth is only 5 ft.

  10. Holly says:

Would like more pilates classes in evenings (5 ish or after) for people that work all day. I miss going to pilates in the morning with Marianne. The 7 ish class is just too late on tuesday nights when you have kids.

  11. Lee says:

I would like to see a water aerobic/exercise class at the Meyer pool, daytime or evening. There is no published schedule online for aquatics that I can see….and no one answers the phone either!
