It was standing-room-only at a brand new event called “Downsizing: Trim Your Treasures” held last week at the Apex PRD Community Recreation Center, 6842 Wadsworth Blvd. The expo featured vendor booths with helpful information on how to tackle this task, plus a seminar called “Who gets Grandma’s Yellow Plate?” detailing how to decide what’s important, and to whom.

Nancy Wellnitz, adult/senior program supervisor, said the event was held in response to CRC customers’ stated interest in getting help with the job of downsizing. The numbers were large for a first-time event, supporting the Center’s programming philosophy of responding to current customer needs.
