CALL TO ORDER
President Jim Whitfield called the December 4, 2008 Special Meeting of the Board of Directors of Apex Park and Recreation District to order at 8:45 a.m. at the Indian Tree Clubhouse, 7555 Wadsworth Boulevard, Arvada, Colorado. Apex board members in attendance were: Jim Whitfield, Lee Humrich, Susan Miller, Jeff Glenn and Ken Harrell. Apex participating staff members were Mike Miles, Executive Director, and Luann Levine, Recording Secretary.
1. Consideration of an Intergovernmental Agreement by and Between Apex Park and Recreation District-Apex Center and the City Of Arvada Relating to the Stormwater Discharges Associated with Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems General Permit
Mike Miles, Executive Director, stated that this IGA is required by the State and the District has the choice of going independent or tying into the City stormwater drainage permit system. This is a permit that must be renewed each year and by agreeing to this IGA with the City there will be no additional fees to the District.
MOTION: Director Humrich moved for approval of the Intergovernmental Agreement by and Between Apex Park and Recreation District-Apex Center and the City of Arvada Relating to the Stormwater Discharges Associated with Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems General Permit. Director Glenn seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
2. Consideration of Resolution APRD2008-17 Approving Application for Jefferson County 2008 Conservation Trust Fund Grant For Dugout Covers at Harold D. Lutz Sports Complex
Mr. Miles stated this is a resolution approving the application for a Conservation Trust Fund Grant for dugout covers at the Lutz Sports Complex. The District will contribute $25,000 of matching funds to the project from the Park Fund. Board discussion ensued concerning the construction materials of the dugout covers.
MOTION: Director Harrell moved for approval of Resolution APRD2008-17 stating the complete support of the Board of Directors of Apex Park and Recreation District for a Jefferson County 2009 Conservation Trust Funds request for funding of $28,600 for the construction of ballfield dugout covers at Harold D. Lutz Sports Complex. Director Miller seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
President Whitfield adjourned the Special Meeting at 8:50 a.m.
