Apex Adult Hockey League
Competitive non-check coed Apex Adult Hockey League (AAHL) in-house at the Apex Center Ice Arena, 13150 W. 72nd Ave. Coed adult divisions for ages 18+ with 3 seasons annually: Fall (September), Winter (January), Spring/Summer (May). Both evening and lunch divisions play 10 regular season games concluding with single elimination playoffs, a team trophy retained by the AAHL and individual awards or t-shirts. ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY TOWARD RINGERS, NEGATIVE BEHAVIOR and BULLIES. USA Hockey Registration is required and certified USA Hockey referees will be used. Register in person at the Apex Center Ice Arena, 13150 W. 72nd Ave. to receive a discount when registering for multiple leagues!

Evening Divisions:
- A – Designed for the advanced player with youth AA/AAA, junior, college-ACHA or NCAA, IIHF or pro experience.
- B – Designed for the high intermediate player with youth B or A experience.
- C – Designed for the intermediate player picking up the game of hockey as an adult or with very limited youth C or in-house experience.
- D – Designed for the novice or new player picking up the game of hockey as an adult.
- Over 40 Rec – Designed for the intermediate or novice player picking up the game of hockey as an adult or with very limited youth experience. Equivalent to C and D adult level.
- Women – Designed for the intermediate or novice player picking up the game as an adult or with very limited youth experience. No AA, AAA or college players. Equivalent to C and D co-ed or B women’s levels.
- Adult Ankle Benders – Designed for the new player picking up the game of hockey as an adult.
Lunch Divisions:
- Lunch League – Designed for the intermediate or novice player picking up the game of hockey as an adult or with limited youth experience. Equivalent to C and D level.

Learn-to-Play Hockey Program – Youth and Adult

- Sessions are 5-6 weeks long and held all year long typically with a week off in-between and off holidays
- Late sign-up allowed for pro-rated fees
- Great for new players, inline/roller players transitioning to ice or for extra ice and instruction for association players
- The hockey curriculum is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey in hockey skates and equipment
- Players learn to maneuver faster and be more agile on the ice, plus the necessary skating, stick-handling, passing and shooting fundamentals
- Mandatory one-time program fee of $35 includes top-level instruction, additional instructors, a hockey jersey and patches
- Youth – Monday from 5:15-6:15 pm. All new players must check-in 30 minutes prior to the start time on the first day of class.
- Adult – Monday from 6:15-7:15 pm. All new players must check-in 30 minutes prior to the start time on the first day of class.
- Hockey Director may move players between levels based upon ability

Middle School Hockey League
Grade 6-8. A competitive non-check coed Spring hockey league offered April-May featuring two practices, eight games and single elimination playoffs at the Apex Center, 13150 W. 72nd Ave. Teams are selected by a draft based on experience and ability. Register online by clicking here. Players are drafted to 4-6 teams based upon experience and ability. USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. USA Hockey Rules apply. USA Hockey certified referees. Scheduled by CIHRA. Participants may be move between teams as needed for competitive balance.

Adult Drop-In Hockey
Times subject to change due to special events. Please call 303-403-2598 for information on additions or deletions. Helmet, cup, elbow pads, shin pads and gloves are required; shoulder pads and hockey pants are strongly recommended.

- Monday: noon-1:30 pm
- Wednesday: 8:15-9:45 pm STARTS March 6
- Friday: 6:30-8 am, noon-1:30 pm
Resident: $8
Non-resident: $11

Skate and Shoot/Developmental Hockey
Work on skating, stick handling and shooting. This is not a drop-in hockey game!
Developmental Hockey Guidelines:
- Full equipment required for ages 18 and under.
- Helmets mandatory for 19 and over. Full equipment recommended, skin must be covered.
- Coaching area is south of the southernmost blue line or may be determined by Apex staff. Coaches are required to wear helmets.
- Goalies pay the same fee as everyone else.
- Control your shots; you’re responsible for pucks you shoot.
- Pucks are not supplied; bring your own.
- Respect and get along with other skaters and coaches.
- No goal tending unless you are wearing goal tending equipment.
- Partial ice scrimmages may be allowed at staff discretion based on ice usage.
- No slap/snap shots towards side glass.
