Choosing a fitness class for you: If in doubt, please ask staff for help – and check with your doctor before starting a new fitness activity. No matter which classes you decide to take, it is important that you do any exercise at your own pace.
- Level 1 – All exercises are done seated or supported by a chair. Class is very gentle and slow.
- Level 2 – Most of the exercises are done standing but chairs are available to sit in if needed. Some exercise is done on the floor on exercise mats. Appropriate for beginners with minimal or no physical limitations.
- Level 3 – Longer duration and higher intensity cardiovascular segment with more advanced strength work. Some exercise experience is recommended.
Community Recreation Center is proud to host the SilverSneakers Fitness Program! SilverSneakers members can attend daytime drop-in fitness and line-dance classes. All SilverSneakers classes welcome non-SilverSneakers participants too! All SilverSneakers participants must complete a participant packet before beginning classes. Stop at the front desk for requirements and to enroll. Please remember to swipe your card every time you participate in any activity. This includes drop-in lobby activities.

Exercard Eligible Classes
- Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program® (AFEP-formerly P.A.C.E.) (Level 1) – Whether you have arthritis, struggle with balance, are recovering from an illness, or just need a place to start, this class covers range of motion, light strength training and coordination exercises-many done in chairs.
- SilverSneakers® I – Muscular Strength and Range of Movement (Level 1) – Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
- SilverSneakers® II – Cardio Circuit (Level 2) – Combine fun and fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises.
- Combo Light (Level 2) – 20-30 minutes of low-impact, medium intensity aerobic movement followed by total body strength and toning exercises. Class finishes with extended stretching and relaxation.
- SilverSneakers® Yoga Stretch (Level 1) – This class is designed to challenge you with a variety of simple and safe yoga poses and is geared toward beginners, but all levels are welcome. Poses can be done in a chair or standing.
- Men’s Fitness (Levels 2 and 3) – Aerobics, strength work and flexibility exercises combined into an hour of fun and fitness!
- Seniorcise Aerobics (Levels 2 and 3) – A great cardiovascular workout with low-impact aerobic dance followed by toning, abdominal work, and a relaxing stretch at the end.
- Wake Up and Workout (Level 3) – A more intense workout with 30-35 minutes of continuous low-impact aerobics followed by conditioning work with hand-weights and exercise bands. Class ends with a final full-body stretch.
- Stretch and Tone (Levels 2 and 3) – Stretching and toning with weights, elastic tubes and balls. Focus is on toning, flexibility and relaxation. Some aerobics and mat work.
