Extras:
Whichever event you choose, treat yourself to a great breakfast afterward… pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee, prepared by Arvada-Jefferson Kiwanis! It’s $5 for ages 13 and up, $3 for ages 6-12 and free for ages 5 and under. Breakfast proceeds go to the Arvada-Wheat Ridge Ambassadors for Youth, which helps teens face and overcome challenges, and the four Arvada middle schools’ after-school recreation program through the Apex PRD Foundation.
Run To Support Recreation In Arvada Middle Schools!
Proceeds from both events go to the Apex Park and Recreation District Foundation, a non-profit agency dedicated to improving community recreation.
These hard-working volunteers are truly the “salt of the earth” – local leaders and citizens working within the community to support the community. This year, the Foundation has designated 100% of the run/walk proceeds to after-school recreation programs at four Arvada middle schools.
Both Apex PRD and the Foundation are committed to keeping all Arvada’s middle school-age children active, so your participation helps support kids who otherwise could not afford the programs.
Even if you don’t want to run the 5K/fun run, you can still make a difference by making a donation to the foundation Middle School After-School Program.
A big thanks to all our other sponsors for supporting the middle school after-school recreation program: Protech, Seminole Energy, Arvada Printery.com, the City of Arvada, Vistar, Sportline, Johnson Controls, Hoffbrau, Arvada-Jefferson Kiwanis, Sam’s Club and Miller Quality Contracting. Special thanks to Sunflower market, Einstein Bagels and Safeway.
After the run/walk, enjoy a pancake breakfast fund-raiser hosted by the Arvada-Jefferson Kiwanis to benefit the APRD Foundation and Arvada-Wheat Ridge Service Ambassadors for Youth.
