Position Title: Youth Tennis Instructor

Classification: Part-time seasonal, non-benefited

Salary: $9-$14.00 per hour, based on experience

Minimum Age: 16 years

Hours: 5-20 hours per week

Job Summary: Works independently or co-teaches group tennis lessons for youth between the ages of 3.5 years – 15 years of age.  Responsible for teaching a variety of levels, ranging from QuickStart through Hitters.  Instruction takes place at the Arvada Tennis Center and other court locations within the City of Arvada.  Ability to demonstrate and communicate basic rallying skills and stroke fundamentals in a motivating, fun, environment.  

Job Qualifications:  Applicants must have sound basic tennis skills, and be able to motivate and engage groups of 6-8 students.  Ability to follow existing lesson formats, progressions, and create lesson plans. Familiarity with QuickStart Tennis a plus, as well as knowledge of drills and games to support lesson component. Strong organizational and communication skills needed, in addition to problem solving. Multi-tasking ability along with sound decision making, for program integrity and in case of emergency.  Instructor is primary contact for participants and families.  Ability to become familiar with entire tennis program, tennis center operations, policies and programs/special events throughout the district.  Provide excellent customer service.  First Aid and CPR certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date.  Certification in USTA Coaches Developmental Training, QuickStart Training, PTR, or USPTA, a plus.
