Recreational Camps

Team 7-12 Day Camp

11 weeks beginning June 3

Ages 7-12

The ultimate choice in recreational day camps! Why choose us? Most importantly, we are sincerely interested in your child. What’s more, our extensively trained, enthusiastic staff provides a fun, yet structured program full of variety. Each week is a fun-filled package of activities, including sports, swimming, crafts, outdoor games; a Friday field trip…. everything for an exciting, memorable summer!

Inclusion: To provide opportunities for people with and without disabilities to experience recreation together, we have reserved five spots at camp for inclusion. Extra staff and support will be available. Participants must be able to participate in small to large group settings. Hours: Camp is open from 7 am to 6 pm weekdays, June 4 to August 17. No drop off deadline.

What’s Included? The weekly fee includes supplies, two snacks per day, and swimming. Friday field trips are extra.

About Our Staff: Camp 7-12 leaders are experienced, extensively trained and carefully screened. For a quality experience, our ratio of leaders to children is 1 to 15 or less.

Registration: Now in progress. Enroll in one or more weekly sessions. The five-day option is Mon.-Fri. and the three-day option is your choice of Tue., Thu. and Fri. or Mon., Wed. and Fri.

Orientation meeting: For parent(s) and child(ren) on Wednesday, May 29, 6 pm at Secrest. Free dinner and ice cream social provided. Please call to make a reservation for the parent meeting 303-403-2555.

REMINDER: A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $50 is required to hold your spot for the weeks you are registering. We require automated withdrawal from either a debit or credit card for remaining balances. Fees are withdrawn from the account on the Thursday prior to the week of camp.

ANY CHANGES MUST BE MADE AT LEAST 5 BUSINESS DAYS before camp begins to stop any automated charges.

Weekly Fee: Res. $150 for 1 child, $125 for second child in same family (non-res. $160 for first child, $135 for second child in same family)

Frequent camper discount: Get 11 weeks for the price of 10! Sign up for the whole summer and get one full week free! The resident fee is $1500 (non-res $1600). No cancellations accepted.
Field trips and prices are subject to change depending on number of campers.

CIT Day Camp

4 Days a week June 18-August 14

Ages 13-15

The CIT (Counselor In Training) program is designed for teens who are interested in learning job/life skills and who enjoy working with younger kids.

Program goals:
1. Encouraging youth collaboration through team-building, experiencing other perspectives, collective planning and implementation of activities, and having fun!
2. Developing youth leadership through social awareness and volunteerism, planning and implementing fundraising activities, working daily with younger campers, demonstrating responsibility for self and others, and confidence building.
Teens engage in a wide-variety of meaningful and fun activities that may include adventure courses, team building, white-water rafting, sports/games, special field trips, volunteerism, memorable meals, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, exploration, and more. They will be responsible for planning and executing camp games, activities, songs, and more throughout the summer with the help of the CIT directors and camp counselors.

Requirements for the CIT Program:
1. Willingness to participate in all activities
2. Strong communication skills
3. Dedication to the CIT program
4. Willingness to work daily with campers, counselors, and other CITs
5. Continual self, team, and community reflection
6. Honorable and appropriate behavior at all times
7. Show respect for all others in the program
8. Complete the application and interview process for the program
9. Attend AT LEAST 6 FULL weeks of camp (preference may be given to those who can attend more)
10. Mandatory attendance of first (orientation) week and final week of camp

Important Dates:

Application deadline: Friday, May 10
Interview dates: Week of May 13
Tentative date for notification of acceptance: Friday, May 24. For more information call Laina 303-403-2555.
On August 14, the CITs will gather to review the summer – what worked well, what could be done differently, and how to improve for next year. This event, from 10 am to 1 pm at the Apex Field House conference room, will also be a closing ceremony for the participants. Lunch provided!

Chippers Summer Camp

Ages 3-4

Come join us at a camp that is close to home and fun, safe and nurturing for your child to play, learn, grow and socialize. Preschool experience is recommended. Snack provided.

Chippers 1 – Four fun-filled weeks cooling off in our water table, painting, playing and romping, and learning about healthy eating.
Chippers 2 – Enjoy learning about pets, how to stay safe in a fire, and the basics of camping.
Chippers 3 – Make a circus, learn about weather, color the world and discover the ocean. Have fun with songs, interactive play, art and memories.

Chippers Summer Camp II

NEW! Ages 4-6

A great summer getaway that’s almost as close as your back yard. 5-6 year olds play, learn, grow and socialize in a safe, fun and nurturing place. Participants must provide their own snack or lunch.

Chippers II 01 – Your child will learn about ancient to modern art, explore fun water-related activities, learn about teamwork, and grow a garden!
Chippers II 02 – We will learn about animals, the moon and stars, fire safety,camping, pets, the farm, and creepy crawlers. During fire safety a real fireman will join us to show how to create a safe camp site.
Chippers II 03 – Learn about the circus, weather, the colors of the world and the ocean. Activities include how to be a clown, why weather is important and secrets of the sea.

Lacrosse Summer Camp

Ages 7-16

Coed grades 2-7 beginners:
Concentrate on basics: throwing, catching, scooping, shooting, defensive fundamentals and teamwork. Have fun with stick tricks and 7v7, 5v5 games. Instructed by Lars Johnson.
Equipment Needed: Tennis shoes/athletic shoes, T-shirt, water bottle, stick if you own one (if not, one will be provided.)

Coed grades 5-9 intermediate/experienced:
For players with previous game or lacrosse experience. Must be able to throw, catch, shoot and cradle. Advanced instruction and skills taught for the first 1/2 hour with games/tournaments during the last hour. Instructed by Lars Johnson.
Equipment Needed: Helmets, tennis shoes/athletic shoes, T-shirt, water bottle, stick if you own one (if not, one will be provided.)

Tennis Nature Discovery Camp

Ages 6-12

In partnership with Majestic View Nature Center, campers begin their morning at the Majestic View Park tennis courts for an hour of tennis activities, lessons, and games. Instructional staff bring extra racquets and water. Required shade, snack and water break energizes the campers for a short period of optional playground time, before walking on the trail to Majestic View Nature Center, with tennis staff. Once there, campers participate in fun, educational, hands on activities centered on reptiles, birds, insects, wetlands and the environment, before walking back to the tennis courts for pick up.

Skateboarding Camps and Lessons

Learn how to be safe and have a blast on your skateboard. All levels welcome. Work on everything from just learning how to roll around on your skateboard to getting radical with some advanced tricks. Explore all the different areas of your brand new amazing Arvada Skate Park. So, come join us for some laughs and some shredding. Helmet and skateboard required.

Gymnastics, Dance and Cheerleading Camps

Summer 1-2-1 Camp for ages 6-17

Learn and perfect new skills in 1 day of dance, 2 days of gymnastics and 1 day of cheerleading. Stay active, meet new friends, have fun and show off those skills when you go back to school! 9 am-3 pm Tue., June 5 through Fri., June 8.

Gymnastics Intensive Camp for ages 7-18

An intensive camp for Level 4 gymnasts and above. Work for 6 hours on high level gymnastics skills and conditioning. 3-9 pm Aug. 6 through 10.

Rock Star Cheer Camp for ages 6-13

Dance to Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Demi Levato and more! Cheer to High School Musical and Camp Rock. Camp includes dance and cheer, a craft each day and watching parts of the latest and greatest pop-star movie! 9 am-3 pm Aug. 6-10.
