The Community Recreation Center is privileged to have an active group of volunteers and a great number of ongoing and special activities to choose from. Volunteers assist as front desk receptionists, librarians, gift shop clerks, craft makers, bus drivers, cooks and much more. As ambassadors for the Center, front desk volunteers are asked to commit to working a 4-hour shift one day per week or shift can be flexible to work every other week. We are looking for energetic, caring individuals who are comfortable with phone work, limited computer work, handling money, giving tours, and working with the public. A background check is required.
Volunteers work to help consign and sell handmade gifts of local artisans. Volunteers are asked to work a 3-hour shift one day per week, or at least every other week. Display sale items, sell and record items, receive and record consignments, handle cash, and clean display cabinets. A background check is required.
Crafty Seniors/Warm Hearts
Meet Wednesdays from 10 am-noon to craft items from donated materials. This crafty group, sell their work at craft fairs and the Craft Carousel gift shop with proceeds going to special projects. Some crafted items are donated to local charities.
Helps sort, mend and organize books and shelves. Flexible hours.
Apple Dumpling Gang
Help prepare food for lunches, dinners, and special events. Serve refreshments, meals and help clean up. Hours will vary according to daytime, weekend, or evening events.
Special Event Workers
We have events that need extra help such as bakers and sellers for bake sales, game leaders for Santa Breakfast and Bunny Breakfast, greeters for expos, decorators for special events, ticket takers, etc.
Slate and Flier Distribution
Help promote our classes and activities by distributing the Slate or fliers to local businesses.
Art Display Hanging
Help put up 6-8 week long art shows that enhance the lobby and hallways. Work with Art Coordinator.
Weight Room Attendant
Assist with checking in participants, monitoring the room and assist with cleaning and maintaining the weight equipment. Have current CPR/AED training or able to obtain. A background check is required.
Van Drivers and Day-trip Escorts
Persons with good driving record and a valid Colorado driver’s license needed to drive and escort a variety of trips in our 13-passenger bus. Escorts assist driver and participants with trip details. Have current CPR/AED training or able to obtain. A background check is required.
