TR Holiday Musical Wows the Crowd

December 3, 2009 was a magical night…the First Annual Holiday Extravaganza Musical, performed by a group of special needs participants in Apex Park and Recreation District’s Therapeutic Recreation program at the Community Recreation Center, 6842 Wadsworth Blvd.

The performance started with the whole group arriving on stage with presents to put under the Christmas Tree. Dancing along to the song “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” half of the group stood in awe of the 100 people who came out to see them. As the next song started, the group got warmed up and really put on a great show. With 11 songs in the program and a lot of words and dance movements to memorize, the performers were spectacular! Each individual had unique qualities that they contributed to each song. They received a standing ovation and flowers were given out to all performers. This was a memorable night for each individual to be a star in their own right. Thanks to all who attended and a big thanks to the performers.
