On Saturday, February 5 at 11 am, Apex Park and Recreation District officials will host a ground-breaking ceremony at the site of the new Apex Field House, 5724 Oak St., a year-round indoor turf sports facility replacing the existing Garrison Street Sports Center, 9101 Ralston Rd., Arvada. In case of bad weather, the ceremony takes place Saturday, February 12 at 11 am. Please enter off 58th Ave., park in the lower lot, and follow the sidewalk up to the ceremory.

The Apex Field House will be constructed on the northeast side of the intersection of 56th Place and Oak Street, at the Harold D. Lutz Sports Complex site. It will house the district’s indoor soccer, lacrosse and flag football programs, classes, drop-in activities and leagues, which currently operate at the Garrison Street Sports Center, 9101 Ralston Rd. “The Apex Field House will be an important asset for central Arvada, as well as the entire sports community of the region,” said Apex PRD Board President Jim Whitfield.

The Apex Field House is tentatively scheduled to open in early fall 2011. Watch for more information on the move at apexprd.org, or call 303.431.9600 with any questions.
