2013 Bike Rodeo drew about 250 young cyclists and families

On Saturday, April 27, Secrest Youth and Teen Center, 6820 W. 66th Ave., was a festive, active and colorful place to be. Community members flocked to the annual free Bike Rodeo for a safe and solid start to the spring and summer cycling season, The event featured bike safety checks, safety skill-building activities, obstacle courses, free bike helmets, refreshments, bike decorating and more.

All activities were free, thanks to sponsors Bicycle Village, Hi Country Wire and Telephone, Saunders Construction, The Goddard School, and Maestas Taekwon-Do. Thanks also to our event partners: Citizens Police Academy Arvada Alumni, Exempla Lutheran Medical Center, City of Arvada Police Department, and Arvada Fire Protection District.
