Logan's wish granted – a Day with the Stanley Cup

Make-A-Wish Foundation, NHL, Apex Center co-host “Logan’s Day with the Stanley Cup”

On Wednesday, May 15, Logan Piz, an Arvada 13-year-old, a student at Lincoln Academy, and Arvada Hockey player #43, had what he described as “the best day of my life.”

The Make-A-Wish Foundation teamed up with the National Hockey League to grant Logan’s wish… to spend the day with the Stanley Cup trophy and share the celebration with his teammates. Much of the event took place at the Apex Center, where Logan brought in the Cup and made a speech that moved many to tears in the crowd of about 500.

Also attending the event was Jean-Sébastien Giguère, goaltender for the Colorado Avalanche and Logan’s favorite hockey player. After skating and the ceremony at the ice arena, family, friends and teammates enjoyed a reception upstairs at the Apex Center.
