The community responded generously to a September 2013 food drive at all Apex PRD facilities, and the result was an impressive 928 pounds of food for local families in need.

This effort helped boost supplies at the food bank, which served 30% more households this summer than in 2012 – 2,948 visits in July and August. From everyone at the Arvada Community Food Bank and Apex Park and Recreation District, a huge THANK YOU for your generosity!

The September food drive is just one of several efforts hosted by the district to support families and children. In November, Apex PRD will once again to collaborate with the Arvada-Wheat Ridge Service Ambassadors for Youth by serving as a collection point for the annual Santa House toy drive. The 2013 holiday season promises to be another busy one for this important community resource for local parents in need who are unable to purchase Christmas gifts for their children. Watch for details in November.
