Apex PRD outdoor swimming pools dog swim draws hundreds of dogs, humans

Archived e1398956691575

Nearly 400 dogs joyfully participated in the annual dog swim, 11 am to 1 pm August 17, 2014 at Apex Park and Recreation District’s Lake Arbor and Secrest outdoor swimming pools in Arvada.

This popular event is traditionally held on the last day before the outdoor swimming pools close for the season. The weather was perfect for swimming: warm temperatures and abundant sunshine until just after the event ended. Thanks to all who attended, and to the sponsors who helped make the event successful: Animal Urgent Care, Arvada Flats Veterinary Hospital, Pet Empawrium, 3 Happy Dogs Pet Sitting, Canine Dimensions, the Arvada Police Department K-9 Unit, and Goulding Family Chiropractic.

Please put me on the mailing list for next year’s dog swim. Sadly, we missed it this year! It was so awesome when we went a few years ago. Kudos for having this each year!!!
