Part-Time Camp Counselor – Secrest Center

The Day Camp Counselor is responsible for providing supervision, instruction, and ongoing assistance to the campers as well as assisting the Camp Leads in facilitating, developing and implementing daily programming. A primary function of this role is to ensure that each camper and family receives the highest caliber of service. The Day Camp Counselor will be assign tasks (set up/take down of equipment/supplies, etc.); assigned to supervise campers and assigned to assist in implement activities; follow protocol regarding handling of behaviors and special needs; support staff that need to administer all medical protocols; communicate all pertinent issues affecting programs to the Camp Leads; establish good rapport with families of the program campers as well as keeping them informed about concerns affecting the campers.
Schedule will vary between 6:30 A.M. and 6:30 P.M.
Monday thru Friday from May 28 through August 9
Paid training dates: April 27, May 4, May 11 and May 18; 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Parent’s Night: May 14; 6- 8 p.m. (Apex Center), May 16; 6-8 p.m. (Secrest Center)
Camp Counselors must be at least sixteen (16) years of age. Camp Counselors must work directly under the supervision of the program director or program leaders and must never be left alone with children if under the age of 18.
Must currently hold certification in or be able to become trained in First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration and Universal Precautions Certified if not will have before May 29, 2019
Ability to drive a 12-passenger van, with a clean driving record
Must have a satisfactory review with the Central Registry of Child Protection
