NEW BUSINESS

  1. Introduction of New Director of Finance – Lauri Dannemiller

  1. Direct Report Presentation – Carrie Gomer and Theresa Hynes

Ms. Gomer and Ms. Hynes presented about new, innovative programming the Field House and Simms Street Recreation Center have implemented: Field House Warrior and Simms Street Ninjas. In 2019 they introduced this obstacle course/”American Ninja Warrior” race-inspired programming via a summer camp after Recreation Services identified and responded to demand and need in our community. Mini Ninjas, Tot Turf Playground, Field House Warrior camps and mini camps and classes, and Simms Street Ninja classes are the current offerings that have grown from that single camp last June. There has been a lot of collaboration and planning for scheduling and purchasing of equipment now that we’re running two sites. Staff shared a promotional video created for the Warrior Camp programming.

  1. Staff Quarterly Reports to Board – Lauri Dannemiller

Copies of reports from all division heads were provided to the Board, and Ms. Dannemiller shared highlights from each.

The current Naming Policy was provided to the Board. The Board will provide direction as to changes they would like the policy to say, as it relates to currently established Board bylaws. This topic of conversation will continue at a future meeting.
