Position Title: Full-Time Facility Specialist – HVAC
Reports To: District Services Facility Manager
Salary: $ 60,000-$90,000 annually (plus full benefit package)
Starting range: $60,000-$75,000 DOQ
Work Schedule: Normal work hours will be 7 am-3:30 pm 5 days a week. This position may be required to work on weekends or different shifts as needed

Job Summary: Work as part of the District Services Division to ensure all district property is properly maintained. Performs skilled technical work in the maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation of Heating, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration Equipment, Controls and other Mechanical systems. The position is responsible for planning and organizing preventative and corrective maintenance; performs scheduled inspections, making adjustments as necessary; troubleshoots and repairs mechanical systems and building automation systems; provides technical assistance; assists with training; prepares and maintains records; performs all work in compliance with applicable laws; responds to work requests and conditions as they arise; represent the division in a positive manger. Tasks include, but are not limited to installing and repairing plumbing, doors and locks, light fixtures and outlets, floors, walls, ceilings, windows, etc.
Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to properly complete a bi-monthly time timesheet for payroll purposes. Ability to work under minimal supervision and assume responsibility for task initiative and completion. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other District staff and the general public. Ability to make sound decisions, and use good judgment in stressful situations. Ability to read blueprints. Ability to educate and supervise different types of personnel (community service workers, part-timers, etc.)
Education/Experience: Trade school or equivalent. Minimum of three years’ experience in HVAC or mechanical trade and/or maintenance and construction. Must possess current and valid Colorado driver’s license. Some knowledge and skills in all aspects of building maintenance and construction. Supervisory experience helpful.
Working Environment/Physical Activities: Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds. Must be able to climb and work off ladders. Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends on a very limited basis. Must be able to work at indoor and outdoor locations. Must be able to work well with district associates and the general public. Environmental conditions encountered will include heat, cold, wind, noise, fumes, odors, and dust. Must be familiar with construction sites and the risks associated therein. Must keep personal appearance and dress in compliance with district guidelines. Must keep behavior and conduct in compliance with information outlined in the Associate Information Manual.
