Once again, the Jeffco Aquatic Masters, based at George J. Meyers Indoor Pool, 7900 Carr Drive, Arvada, CO, distinguished themselves in a major competition. The Colorado Masters Swimming Association Short Course Championships was held March 24-26 at Colorado Mesa University, Grand Junction, CO. The Jeffco Aquatic Masters placed fifth out of 27 teams competing According to correspondence from team, “This is a huge accomplishment as placing in the top 10 at State is very hard to do. The top 5 teams took at least twice the number of swimmers than we did, so although a smaller group they scored huge in each event.”

Swimmers that represented JAM at State were Chelsea M. Gibbons, Fontaine O’Connell, Dietrich W. Lawrence (coach), John J. Valvano. Tanya Hartney, William (Bill) Ott and Jodi L. Lee

In other competition news, the Jeffco Hurricanes, a year-round club team based at Meyers, took home top place at sectionals. This is also an enormous accomplishment! Read more about the meet here:

Congratulations to all the competitors!
