New Registration System Coming Soon
|
| |
Apex Park and Recreation District’s current registration system, MaxGalaxy, has been acquired by ACTIVENet, necessitating the district to change to the new system. ACTIVENet’s online and in-person registration will allow our community to conveniently access Apex programs, activities, classes, and more anywhere, anytime. We appreciate your patience while we make this transition.
During the final phases of the conversion to the new system (occurring September 17-22), customers will still have access to our website but will be unable to look at classes, sign up for classes, or create an account. Guest Services at all Apex facilities will be available in person or by phone to provide customers with any needed registration assistance during this time. The new system is expected to be live to the public beginning September 23.
As always, Guest Services is here for any of your registration needs or questions. You can call 303.424.2739 or email [email protected]. |

The inaugural event will take place the morning of Saturday, October 23 at the Apex Center. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are all welcome to join us for this Halloween celebration. There will be a separate 1-mile Trick or Trot Halloween Candy Hunt for kids 12 and under. Kids can grab candy at our designated trick or trot stations along the 1-mile course. Proceeds from this event benefit the Apex Park and Recreation District Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose purpose is to support Apex Park and Recreation District's efforts to deliver quality community recreation.
Early registration closes September 30; regular registration closes October 21 at noon. Walk-Up Registration on the day of the event will be available if space allows. A virtual option for this race is also available.

September is Fall Prevention Month
|
| |
Friends Don't Let Friends Fall
In honor of Fall Prevention month, learn how you can help prevent falls by joining the Arvada Fire Department and Lutheran Medical Center as they present "Friends Don't Let Friends Fall." After a brief talk, safely participate in their modified fall prevention obstacle course. This obstacle course simulates common fall scenarios that people might encounter in the community or at home. Information on self-help after a fall will also be provided, as well as on how to join the full course offerings.
The class will be held in the Apex Center Auxiliary Gym. For the easiest access come in the Ice Arena entrance at the east end of the facility but turn right and enter the side gym door before you get to the glass sliding doors. Please register by Sep.10, or after that date call Nancy at 303.425.9583 to register. |

Fall Prevention and Memory Retention Swag Bags
Fall prevention and memory retention are important to take heed of as we get older. Apex has partnered with Brookdale, Gardens at St. Elizabeth, Humana, Integrity Insurance, Mountain Vista Senior Living, SCL Health/Lutheran Medical Center, and Optimal Aging Medicare Solutions to put some simple bags together that have fall protection and/or memory retention information, plus a variety of treats. Sign up for these FREE bags by September 14, then stop by the Community Recreation Center, 6842 Wadsworth Blvd., from September 20-22 between operating hours of 8:00 a.m.-noon to pick up. Or if you have registered for the “Fall Prevention: Friends Don’t Let Friends Fall” activity at the Apex Center on September 16, you can pick it up at the talk. |
