Experience the fascinating world of STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics – with activities in coding, robotics, nature experiments, and beyond. Licensed Summer Camps

Apex Park and Recreation District offers three full-day state-licensed camp sites, Teen Adventure, and a Leadership in Training program for youth ages 5 to 15 all summer. Our camp locations promote friendship, creativity, and inclusivity, with each site geared to meet your child’s needs and enhance their social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Our camps help build self-confidence through a variety of group activities, encourage the development of new friendships, and provide a safe, inclusive, and caring environment for each child.

Camp Apex – Meet Melinda

Melinda has been the site coordinator at the Apex Center for the past year and has been part of the team for the past three summers. Camp Apex is for ages 5-10 and is great for campers looking to participate in everything the Apex Center offers. At Camp Apex, kids participate in crafts, sports and games, special interests, and free-choice activities. This site also offers swimming and the Splash Pad, add-on opportunities for rock climbing and ice skating, and an option for field trips on Wednesdays. Camp Fitzmorris – Meet Kelli

Kelli opened our newest camp location at Fitzmorris Elementary School last summer and has been part of the team for the past two summers. Camp Fitzmorris is for ages 5-10 and will inspire your child’s creativity. Camp Fitzmorris is ideal for campers looking for a STEAM (Science, Teamwork, Engineering, Art, and Music) camp experience. Campers will also participate in daily yoga, art, building, silent disco, swimming at the Fitzmorris outdoor pool, walking trips, and field trips on Thursdays. Camp Secrest, Teen Adventure Camp, Leader In Training – Meet Vee

Vee has been the site coordinator at Secrest Recreation Center for the past year and has been part of the team for the past six summers. Camp Secrest is for ages 8-12 and is geared for older adventures learning to explore the world around them. Camp is designed to keep kids active and engaged through a mix of exciting activities. Campers will participate in local mini-field trips on Mondays, swimming at the Secrest outdoor pool, special interest activities, and field trips on Fridays.

Based out of the Secrest Recreation Center, Teen Adventure Camp and the Leaders in Training are great options for our older campers ages 11-15. In Teen Adventure, be ready to embark on daily field trips. Campers will explore the world around them and challenge themselves by trying new experiences in a safe environment with their peers. Field trips vary daily and weekly.

For teens looking for a more leadership-based experience, the Secrest Recreation Center also hosts the Leader in Training (LIT) Camp for ages 12-15. The LIT program is designed for teens interested in gaining a head start in building their professional skills. Through this program, young leaders will cover bullying prevention, public speaking, facilitation, volunteerism, and communication.
