Apex Park and Recreation District offers a variety of fitness and mind/body classes for people of all ages and abilities. Qualified and experienced instructors will help keep you motivated to reach your fitness and wellness goals through activities like Advanced Women’s Strength, Family Yoga, Pilates Reformer and more. Specialty Fitness and Wellness classes carry a reasonable registration fee and you do not have to have a facility membership to participate.
Work with a Pilates Reformer/Yoga Instructor individually or in a group to improve strength, flexibility, balance and core stability. Pilates Reformer/Tower services are available at the Apex Center only. Private and Group Yoga sessions are available at many of our District-wide facilities including the Apex Center, Community Recreation Center, Fitzmorris Recreation Center, and Simms Street Recreation Center.

A great starting point or supplement for a personal training program! This professional, detailed, individual consultation assesses your muscles, posture and movement patterns. Learn how these factors affect your joint and muscle efficiency and well-being, and get customized strategies and recommendations for improvement through corrective exercises.

A personal trainer will assess your overall fitness through a series of tests. Fitness assessments include vital signs, cardiovascular and muscle endurance, body composition and flexibility. Massage is one of the oldest and simplest forms of therapy and is a system of soft tissue manipulation using a variety of techniques. Massage therapy benefits all individuals and provide numerous benefits.
Reduce stress, ease sore muscles, aid circulation, and rehabilitate injuries with help of regular massage sessions. We offer Deep Tissue, Swedish Neuromuscular, Craniosacral, Lymphatic, Hot Stone, Somatic Release, and Reiki II. Seniors 62+ receive $5 off the one-hour price.

Apex Park and Recreation District is proud to serve individuals with a SilverSneakers fitness membership. A national program designed exclusively for older adults, the SilverSneakers fitness program encourages physical activity and social engagement. SilverSneakers is an adult wellness program offered through individuals’ health plans and accepted in lieu of a separate membership, punch card, or day pass at fitness centers such as the Community Recreation Center, Racquetball, and Fitness Center, Simms Street Recreation Center, George J. Meyers Swimming Pool, Fitzmorris Recreation Center, Secrest Recreation Center, and Apex Center.
American Specialty Health includes Sliver&Fit and Choose Healthy Affinity Discount Network
Choose Healthy Affinity Discount program provides members with a discount off membership dues. It is designed for health plans that are not yet ready to offer a full benefits program but want to expose their members to fitness based health improvement programs. Members are responsible for paying their own enrollment/initiation fees (if applicable) and monthly dues to the fitness facility. We offer a 10% discount on month to month memberships and 15% off if the membership is paid in full for one year.
Silver&Fit allows eligible members to access Contracted Facilities through their health plan coverage. Members have access to any classes or amenities that do not require an extra fee. The Silver&Fit Program is available to Medicare-eligible members.
