The 2014 proposed fees for the Apex Park and Recreation District were presented to the Board of Directors at the June 6 board meeting. Final approval is set for the next board meeting on June 20.

Apex Park and Recreation District is offering three monthly specials when you book a reservation for a group of 50 or more at either Secrest Pool, 6820 W. 66th Ave. or Lake Arbor Outdoor Pool, 7451 W. 83rd Way.
June Special: 2 for 1 pricing for groups of 50 or more.
July Special: Free adult admission with regular group pricing of 50 or more youths.
August Special: Buy one, get one at half off for a group of 50 or more.

A crowd of about 150 attended the June 3 groundbreaking for the state’s first outdoor courts built specifically for the game of pickleball. Many brought their own shovels to help turn over the first dirt for this exciting project, afterwards enjoying refreshments despite the gusty afternoon wind. Guests also included Arvada Mayor Marc Williams as well as members of the Apex PRD Board of Directors and the Apex PRD Foundation.
