Call to Order

President Pyne called to order the August 7, 2025, meeting of the Apex Park and Recreation District Board of Directors, held at 6:30 pm at the Apex Center. The board members in attendance in person were Vicki Pyne, Liz Tomsula, Rich Garrimone, Jo Burns and Lynn Emrick. District employees in attendance were Jeff Glenn, Executive Director; Mark Baird, Director of District Services; Lily Nunez, Apex Hospitality; Darren Bjorlin, Capital Project Manager and Building Access Control Specialist; Samira Tadayon, Aquatics and HVAC Technician; Doug Davey, Recreation Coordinator; Drenea Starbuck, Recreation Coordinator; Laura Schwenker, Recreation Coordinator and Monica Bowser, Community Services Manager; Rik Rarick, Safety Manager; Brook-Lyn Greenwood, Apex Center Manager.

Approval of Agenda

MOTION: Director Tomsula moved to approve the agenda. Director Burns seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Minutes From July 17 Meeting

MOTION: Director Garrimone moved to approve the July 17 board meeting minutes. Director Tomsula seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

Public Input

No public input.

New Business

1. New Employee Introductions: Jeff Glenn
   Lily Nunez, Apex Center hospitality. Ms. Greenwood introduced Lily Nunez as the new Apex Center hospitality staff member.
2. Seniors Who Shine: Michelle Stout
   The CRC staff and board introduced the Seniors Who Shine. The board recognized them and gave them a certificate, flowers and goodies.

Old/Other Business

Mr. Glenn updated the board about the trail connection through the Apex Center parking lot. He also updated the board that the archery range is coming along and moving forward. The new outdoor recreation coordinator has been hired.

Mr. Glenn announced the completion of the new front desk at the Apex Center.

Executive Director Report

Mr. Glenn reported that the AAC shutdown has started, and they are getting through the warranty issues. The Apex Center shutdown will also begin soon.

Board Member Reports

Director Tomsula: No update.

Director Garrimone: No update.

Director Emrick: Director Emrick inquired about the Float and Flick. Staff reported that the event went very well.

Director Burns: Director Burns announced the Community Table open house for their new building.

President Pyne: President Pyne reported out about the Foundation meeting. The Foundation golf tournament is moving along and has more sponsors than they have had in the past. November 13 will be the date staff make presentations to the Foundation for projects.

MOTION: Director Burns moved that the meeting be adjourned. Director Tomsula seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

President Pyne adjourned the meeting at 7:12 pm.
