Register for Mini Dance Programs

The Mini Dance program offers a variety of dance opportunities for kids ages 2-4. There are dance-only classes and combo programs to allow your little one to experience a mix of dance and tumbling, ninja, or other programs we offer at the Simms Street Recreation Center. Whichever class you choose, your mini will enjoy maximum movement merrymaking.

Mini Dance

Ages 2-4

For dancers ready to go beyond the parent-child class and participate independently. A fun class featuring favorite preschool music and a variety of dance styles. Dancers are recommended to have ballet shoes but are welcome to dance in bare feet. Classes are held at Simms Street Recreation Center.

Mini Dance and Gymnastics

Ages 3-5

Mini Dance and Gymnastics is a great way to introduce your little athlete to both gymnastics and dance. Class time is spent learning to twirl and flip. Classes are held at Simms Street Recreation Center.

Attire

Please wear comfortable clothing with no buttons or zippers. Ballet shoes are recommended, but you may dance barefoot. Tap shoes are required for tap classes. No street shoes are allowed in the dance studios. Hair needs to be pulled back from the face.

The Performance Dance program is a 15-week program that offers a variety of dance opportunities for kids ages 5-18. These dance classes will allow your kids to experience the different styles we offer at the Simms Street Recreation Center.

If you want to take dance to the next level and perform without the stress of competition and fees, join the Performance Dance Troupe. This group will perform at various district functions, community events, and recitals. Students must have completed at least one 15-week session of the Performance Dance program. Ages 4-18.

Students will study all genres of dance.

A $50 fee is added to tuition for apparel and the recital to cover the costume, recital venue rental, and four tickets.

When should I register for a session?

Classes fill extremely quickly. Plan to register for class on the day registration opens.

Can parents stay to watch?

Parents are welcome to stay to watch. Our large dance studio has an attached viewing room. The small studio has seating outside the room.

What happens if my child misses a class?

Due to ratio restrictions and full programs, we are unable to offer make-ups for missed classes. Please plan to attend all registered classes.

What happens if I need to withdraw from a class?

• A full refund request will only be granted if the request is received by the gymnastics coordinator 5 business days or more before the activity starts (minus a $5 service fee).
• A partial refund request will be granted if the request is received by the gymnastics coordinator less than 5 days before the start of the activity. A partial refund is defined as the fee paid minus the initial class and a $5 service fee.
• No refunds are processed after the activity start date.
• A full refund will be granted if the activity is canceled by Apex PRD.
