Join us as we learn about Tamara de Lempicka, a prolific twentieth-century woman artist. Nicknamed ÒThe Baroness with a Brush,Ó she became known for her self-portraits and paintings of women rendered in her chic Art Deco style. In this workshop, Kathy Mitchell will explore the characteristics of the Art Deco movement in fine art and share some of LempickaÕs renowned masterpieces. Then, we will tap into our own creativity to create our own simple, Art Deco-inspired work of art. No artistic ability is required, just a willingness to try something new and have fun. Please bring a pair of scissors for cutting paper, a ruler, and a bottle of ElmerÕs glue. All other materials are provided. Sponsored by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District.
