Adult Skaters Coffee Club

Join us for some exercise and fun at the Apex Center Ice Arena. $5 admission includes skate rental and coffee. Bring a friend and make some new ones. Contact Denise at [email protected] for more information.

Coffee Club meets every Tuesday, 9:45-10:45 am.

The Apex Center Ice Arena features a figure skating program for all levels of skaters, ranging from the recreational figure skater to the competitive level. With two NHL-sized ice surfaces, there is an extensive schedule of freestyle sessions. Specialty programs such as Aspire, Elite Camp, Power, Edge, and other specialty classes are also offered. Private lessons are available with one of our exceptional Apex Center Ice Arena coaches. To set up a private lesson, please contact Denise Hughes, [email protected], 303.463.4287.   • Freestyle sessions are open to those skaters practicing figure skating only.
  • Guest coaches must obtain approval from the skating director before coaching.
  • SilverSneakers benefits are not valid for freestyle sessions.

Search and Register for Learn to Skate

Registration for the next Learn to Skate session opens on April 3.

Ages 3+

All classes take place at the Apex Center Ice Arena.

The Learn to Skate USA program offers top-quality instruction in small group classes, providing a fun and safe skating experience for all ages and abilities. Through the world-class curriculum and nationally certified instructors, you will be enthusiastic about learning to ice skate, from your first steps on the ice to mastering advanced skills. Learn to Skate USA is the only program endorsed by U.S. Figure Skating, USA Hockey, U.S. Speedskating, and the Special Olympics.

  • Parent/Tot classes for children ages 3-6 (parent must be able to skate).
  • Snowplow Sam 1-4 classes for children ages 4-6.
  • Basic 1-4 for ages 7+.
  • Aspire for Basic 5 through Free Skate levels.
  • Adult classes for ages 16 and older.

Group Lesson Information

  • Classes are 30 minutes long.
  • Participants in LTS classes receive a free 5-punch card for public skate sessions to come practice.
  • The lesson fee includes skate rental and LTS USA membership.
  • Skaters need to dress warmly, including gloves or mittens; no shorts, please.
  • Bicycle, ski, or hockey helmets are recommended. Sorry, helmets are not available to rent at the arena.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your class.

Registration: You must register according to the guidelines for safety and quality. Registration closes one week before the first class.

Late registrations will only be accepted as space permits and must be approved through the skating office. Beginning on the first day of a new session, the skating office must authorize all registrations, transfers, and cancellations. We reserve the right to cancel or combine classes based on registrations. Make-up classes are offered, based on availability, within the same session.

Private “Booster” Lessons

Are you looking to enhance your learning experience? You can schedule a private booster lesson with one of our valued instructors when enrolled in the Learn to Skate program. These lessons are a great way to help your skater focus and work on skills that are more difficult to achieve and enhance the skills you already know. It also gives the skater more structured, fun, and additional practice time. Please contact the skating director to set up lessons.

Register for Figure Skating Camps

Holiday Aspire and Champs Camp: December 20-December 22, 8:30 am-12 pm.

Aspire Figure Skating Camp

Aspire is for figure skaters in Basic 4 through Freeskate 5.

The U.S. Figure Skating Aspire program bridges learning to skate group classes and competitive and/or performance and testing levels.

Skaters will work toward building a solid skill foundation that drives success on and off the ice.

Champions Figure Skating Camp

Champions Figure Skating Camp is for Pre-Pre through Senior skaters working on Axel and above.

Prerequisite: single jumps achieved and working on Axel jump or with permission from the skating coordinator. Pre-Silver and up dancers are also eligible.
