May 21, 2026, Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

Call To Order

President Pyne called to order the May 21, 2026, meeting of the Apex Park and Recreation District Board of Directors, held at 6:32 pm at the Apex Center. Board members in attendance were Vicki Pyne, Rich Garrimone, Liz Tomsula and Lynn Emrick. District employees in attendance were Jeff Glenn, Executive Director; Monica Bowser, Community Services Manager and Recording Secretary; Jesse Badder, Director of Golf and Operations; Darren Bjorlin, Capital Project Manager and Building Access Control Specialist; Caitlin Hankins, District Controller; Jeff Leniger, Director of Finance

Approval of Excused Absence of Director Burns

MOTION: Director Emrick moved to approve the excused absence of Director Burns. Director Tomsula seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Agenda

MOTION: Director Tomsula moved to approve the agenda. Director Garrimone seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Minutes of The May 7, 2026, Board Meeting

MOTION: Director Garrimone moved to approve the minutes. Director Tomsula seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

There was none.

New Business

  • Audit Report – Jeff Leniger

Alex Arndt and Janeen Hathcock from Eide Bailly presented the 2025 district audit report to the board and reported the district had no deficiencies

MOTION: Director Garrimone moved to approve the audit report. Director Tomsula seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

Old/Other Business

Executive Director Report

Mr. Glenn reported:

  • Chamber Leader luncheon is on June 17.
  • Park and Rec Month Proclamation will be on July 7 at the City Council meeting.
  • Arvada PD Memorial Dedication is on May 28, behind City Hall.
  • East Ice Rink has been painted and is now being refrozen.
  • Incident Saturday, May 16, during a private rental.

Board Member Reports

Director Tomsula:

  • No report.

Director Emrick:

  • No report.

Director Garrimone:

  • Foundation PB Tourney is this weekend, Saturday and Sunday. We have 81 teams signed up this year, and they have doubled their participation.
  • Had lunch with Special Districts at Foothills and was able to golf as well.

President Pyne:

  • No report.

MOTION: Director Tomsula moved that the meeting be adjourned. Director Garrimone seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

President Pyne adjourned the meeting at 6:55 pm.
