Child Watch

Expand

Child watch at Fitzmorris Elementary School is open for children ages six months to 10 years.

Child-to-Staff Ratio Policy

To ensure the safety, well-being, and quality of care for all children in our program, we adhere to the following staff-to-child ratios:

  • Toddlers (under 5 years old): Maximum of 8 children per staff member
  • Children (5 years and older): Maximum of 10 children per staff member
  • Overall Capacity: A maximum of 20 children may be enrolled at any given time, depending on staff availability.

These ratios are designed to maintain a nurturing and attentive environment for every child in our care.

Parents or guardians must remain at Fitzmorris Recreation Center or Fitzmorris Elementary School the entire time a child is checked in. The same parent or guardian who checks a child in must also sign them out. Children may be checked in for a maximum of two and a half hours.

Each child must have a Tier 1 pass, a child watch punch card, or pay the daily fee. Passes are scanned at the Fitzmorris Recreation Center.

  • Tuesday and Thursday: 5-7:30 pm

  • Because of safety concerns, numbers are limited, and availability cannot be guaranteed. At the staff's discretion, a waitlist will be started.
  • Please leave sick children at home so illness will not spread to other children or staff.
  • Food is not allowed due to safety concerns, such as choking and allergies. Guardians may not bring in food for their children. Drinks in non-spill cups and baby bottles are permitted with staff approval.
  • Guardians must complete the Child Watch Profile Card, which is kept on file for one year. A new profile card must be filled out annually.
